Absolute peace and solitude meet modern luxury and convenience in the Outer Hebridean hideaway of 20A Kirkibost, on the Isle of Lewis. This spacious, modern, newly built and pristine home sleeps six people and their pet dogs in utter comfort on the island of Great Bernera, which is joined to the larger Isle of Lewis and Harris by a bridge.

The spot gives almost perfect privacy from which to enjoy the wild and rugged surroundings, including stunning views across the sea loch Barraglom and the distant hills of Uig. It’s ever beautiful and often dramatic, whatever the Hebridean weather may bring.

Surfing, hiking, fishing, kayaking and cycling are popular activities here, or simply strolling on sandy beaches or moors watching for seals, eagles, dolphins and otters at play. Popular attractions include the famous Callanish Standing Stones, which predate Stonehenge, and the recently discovered Bosta Iron Age house. Between September and March, visitors are often treated to the cosmic light show of the Aurora Borealis.

20A Kirkibost has been designed, built and furnished by owners Eric and Sharon, to maximise enjoyment of the natural surroundings without compromising on home comforts. Everything is pristine and guests enjoy smart TV with Sky channels, a BOSE sound system and superfast direct to premises broadband.

This modern, single storey home has two bedrooms with king-sized beds, one of them en-suite and the other sharing a large family bathroom with the third, twin-bedded room. There’s an impressive, well-equipped kitchen, open plan dining room and, always, a welcome hamper of local delicacies and essentials.
