Cosy, comfortable and both child and dog-friendly, Covill Cottages are two delightful character cottages snuggled away in the idyllic surroundings in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The properties sit on former farmland beside the Gouthwaite Reservoir and command not only great views but great walks over the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. They sleep four people each, but can be hired together for up to eight people, making them ideal for mixed generations to share company while also enjoying their own space.
Covill Cottages – Lakeview Cottage and Dalesview Cottage – are perfectly placed for walking, cycling, birdwatching and generally enjoying the wide open spaces of the Dales. They are also convenient for visiting the independent shops, pubs and cafes of Pateley Bridge, a charming market town roughly five miles away. The town, known for its river scenes, museum and The Oldest Sweet Shop in the World, is both the start and finish of the 53 mile Nidderdale Way circular hiking route. Harrogate and the National Trust’s Fountains Abbey are also within an easy drive.
Covill Cottages are built of stone and have two bedrooms each, a king and a twin. They are furnished and equipped to high modern standards and have features including open range fireplaces, exposed beams, beautiful views and safe, enclosed gardens with furnished patios. They provide a great sense of space, peace and privacy.
