Hodgehill started as a modest concern selling tomatoes from a shed. Now it is a fabulous destination in its own right, comprising a top quality farm shop, garden centre and café offering some of the finest fare to be found anywhere in Worcestershire.
Success has come from a commitment to excellence by the Needham family owners and a determination to give the public a premium experience, including a very pleasant shopping environment which is dog friendly, even in the café.
General Manager Ben Brookes says: “A big thing for us is sourcing everything as locally as possible, from independent businesses, and promoting it through the café. Everything we serve in the café is also sold through our Farm Shop”
The farm shop stocks the freshest and finest of local foods, from fruit and vegetables grown in Worcestershire to meat farmed with the highest standards of animal welfare and tracked ‘from field to fork.’
The enterprise has grown to encompass artisan products across bakery, dairy and frozen foods, ready made meals and locally manufactured beers, ciders, spirits, wines and soft drinks. Fish is delivered fresh from Devon and Cornwall and in the delicatessen you’ll find continental-style olives and antipasti, cold meats, pastries and speciality cheeses. Kitchen staples, jams and pickles are also sold.
The on-site café is staffed by a highly experienced and enthusiastic team of chefs. Their delicious menus for breakfast, lunch and lite bites showcase the all-round farm shop ingredients, including meat from the Hodgehill butchery. They are regularly changed to take advantage of seasonal arrivals such as asparagus and strawberries.
Another major part of the Hodgehill presence is the Garden Centre, with large selections of both indoor and outdoor plants. Multiple deliveries every week ensuring lots of customer choice, good prices and always something in flower.
In addition, you can find a great selection of hand-crafted garden furniture, woodburners and stoves.
