Coastal walkers and other lovers of the great outdoors will relish the great locations of Lyme Holidays, with three superb cottages to let as holiday bases on the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These scenic locations near Lyme Regis are ideally placed for exploring the Dorset and Devon coast and countryside, including the South West Coastal Path and the spectacular high headland of Golden Cap.
The largest cottage is Joan’s Cottage in the seaside resort of Charmouth, where guided fossil hunting walks are frequent and paddle boarding classes attract the adventurous. This 400 year old gem has been refurbished by owners Ruth and Mike to create a splendid family home. With two bedrooms, two bathrooms and comfy contemporary furnishings, the beach, shops, pubs and amenities are a level stroll from the cottage. One well-behaved dog is very welcome.
Pydelspring and Greenwood cottages have been converted from a Barn in Morecombelake, each with a double en-suite bedroom. Ideally placed for walking the coastal path, they have a large garden with individual decking and seating areas and they are close to a bus stops in both directions. There is a farm shop with café within 200 yards.
There is a thriving Street market in Bridport twice a week selling everything from vegetables to antiques.
Ruth says: “Whatever time of year you visit, you’ll always find something wonderful to see and do.”
