Hotel Ellenby occupies a premium place on Scarborough’s dramatic cliffs, overlooking the stunning North Bay and offering stylish accommodation within easy reach of the beach, cafes and prime attractions. These include an open air theatre, castle, cricket ground, Sea Life Sanctuary and pretty Peasholm Park, voted one of the UK’s top 10. The main town centre shops, restaurants, harbour, funfair and many other attractions lie within a gentle 15 minute stroll.

The Ellenby was built in 1943 and is a Grade Two listed building, but has been recently and sympathetically upgraded by new owners Tony and Paula Bates. There are 11 en suite guest bedrooms, all tastefully decorated, comfortably furnished and with tea and coffee making facilities and beautiful views of either the sea or the gardens.

Paula and Tony pride themselves on providing a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for guests aged from 10 upwards, together with hearty breakfasts making the most of top quality local produce. They have provided a guest lounge and honesty bar.

Scarborough itself has much to offer by way of entertainment, activities from golf to sailing and a wide range of restaurants. It is also a great spot from which to explore the Heritage Coast to Whitby and beyond, the spectacular North York Moors and the historic city of York.
