Julie Weaver, General Manager of new, luxury Cinnamon Care Collection care home, Parkfield Grange in Stourbridge has specialised in elderly care since qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 1985. She continued her studies alongside nursing and has a degree in law together with Masters degrees in Law & Employment Relations and Leadership & Management. We ask Julie about Parkfield Grange’s ethos of providing the gold standard in senior care.

1. What should you look for when choosing a care home for a loved one?
‘Care’ is key – select an environment where your loved one will be looked after by experienced, knowledgeable, caring individuals. My first love remains running a care home and I am absolutely thrilled to be leading the team at Parkfield Grange. For me, Cinnamon embodies the values and principles I have worked to deliver throughout my career – namely residents treated as cherished individuals. Parkfield Grange has been purpose-built to provide an exceptional physical environment with landscaped gardens.

2. When is the ‘right’ time to consider care?
People need care at different stages.  The on-site show suite at Parkfield Grange in Hagley Road, Stourbridge enables prospective residents and their families to view the elegant facilities first-hand. It’s always best to look at residential care options early so as to not rush the decision. As well as excellent day-to-day care, we will offer short stay or respite for convalescence.  We can also offer long-term, specialist dementia care in enriched, dementia friendly environments.

3. How do you differ from competitors?
We believe we are the difference between good care and great care. Our aim is to help older people live happier, healthier, more fulfilled lives and give peace of mind to the families who entrust us with the wellbeing of their loved ones. The Cinnamon Care Collection ethos is to shape care around the individual with every need catered for, including favourite foods and activities. Additionally, when COVID-19 restrictions permit, we will start group outings and tailored events.

Parkfield Grange is part of the award-winning Cinnamon Care Collection, voted Top 20 Care Home Group for the last three consecutive years. Opening in early 2021, the new care home offers 68 en-suite bedrooms and 6 one-bedroom care suites. The care suites include an en-suite bedroom, lounge and kitchenette – ideal for couples or those looking for more space than a traditional care bedroom.
