Swimmers, surfers and beach lovers will find themselves in heaven holidaying at the Inn on the Shore, a relaxed, dog friendly venue of offering modern guest accommodation, great food and a built in social scene. This independent country pub sits in an idyllic seafront location between lively Looe and pretty Polperro on the south Cornwall coast.
Owners Ben Criddle and Jess Louvel had a £0.5 million refurbishment carried out when they took over the premises in 2018, bringing everything up to contemporary modern standards of comfort and convenience. All eight guest bedrooms have en-suite facilities including rain showers along with TV and hospitality trays.
Breakfasts are delicious affairs with choices including traditional full English or vegetarian equivalent, Dutch pancakes or even smashed avocado on toast with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The mouthwatering daily dinner menu majors on freshly landed fish and shellfish, especially the signature dish of rope grown Cornish mussels. A children’s menu is available, as are Cornish cream teas, and the gardens include a play area and panoramic sea views.
As with the food, the Inn on the Shore offers a top quality drinks selection, including craft ales and speciality ranges of gins, rums and mixers.
The spot is right on the picturesque South Wests Coast Path and on a beach where dogs are welcome all year round.
