People who enjoy outdoor activity close to nature are spoiled for choice when they book into Toad Hall Lodges in the glorious Suffolk countryside. Close to the East Anglian coast, Dunwich Forest and multiple nature reserves teeming with life, Toad Hall’s timber retreats are built for uncompromising comfort and ideal for adult couples and group holidays or celebration weekends for up to 10 people.
The health-conscious owners picked the spot because of its proximity to great places for running, walking and cycling, not to mention wild swimming and multiple watersports. It’s in a leafy corner of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where guests can watch Suffolk’s stunning sunsets from their fire pits and make use of shared exercise space.
One popular walk is through the Hen Reedbeds Nature Reserve, then down the Blyth Estuary into either Southwold or Walberswick.
The five stylish Toad Hall Lodges each provide modern comforts and luxurious touches for two people, including power showers and super-comfortable twin or king-sized beds with feather duvets and Memory Foam mattresses. They have private decking with firepits and dining furniture, but guests also have use of a communal garden, outdoor covered kitchen and coffee terrace.
Normally Toad Hall is for adults only, with no pets, but owner Gavin Crossland says: “For group bookings we are happy to be flexible.”
