Walkers and nature lovers find the warmest of welcomes at The Staghunters Inn, a traditional country inn set in the valley of the East Lyn River. Surrounded by the wild beauty of Exmoor National Park and within strolling distance of the spectacular North Devon coast, this is English countryside at its very best, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and part of an International Dark Sky Reserve with outstanding views of the stars.
The Staghunters Inn is family-run accommodation in the charming village of Brendon, near the coastal village of Lynmouth. It has 14 well-appointed, dog friendly guest bedrooms, all with pleasant views of either the river or gardens. It also has four acres of gardens and fields as well as private car-parks.
The inn – which is featured in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide – has been owned and run by the Wyburn family since 2006, supported by a long-term, dedicated family kitchen team. Meals are homemade and sourced locally and the bar is well-stocked with beverages including a wide range of wines, malt whiskies and West Country ales such as Exmoor.
Simon Wyburn says: “We strive to give people what we would want, to feel welcome and really enjoy their stay.
“This is a walkers’ paradise. There are beautiful walks in all directions and there is a wide variety of wildlife in the valley including otters, kingfishers, dippers, heron, red deer and Exmoor ponies.”
