Yorkshire Dales on the doorstep at The White Rose Hotel

For a holiday in the heart of the ‘Herriot country’, famous for the BBC TV series All Creatures Great and Small, book into The White Rose Hotel and enjoy a real treat. It’s a delightful family run business in Askrigg, Wensleydale, an area famous for its dramatically beautiful walking country, waterfalls and a certain very popular brand of cheese.

The White Rose has a range of 12 guest bedrooms available at £85 per night, or £95 for superior doubles, all with en suite facilities, TV, hospitality trays, room controlled central heating, alarm clock, radios and hair dryers. Guests also have use of the bar and games room. The restaurant has an orangery overlooking a beautiful beer garden.

The restaurant has established a great reputation for tasty, good quality, seasonal food, freshly prepared by a professional chef. It provides both bar meals and an a la carte menu.

Askrigg is a pretty village within the Yorkshire Dales National Park and a magnet for walkers, riders and cyclists. Tourist hot spots nearby include the Aysgarth Falls – a stunning triple flight of waterfalls created by the River Ure – and Richmond, a beautiful town with a famous castle. Many visitors like to visit Hawes Ropeworks and Wensleydale Creamery. Like the World of James Herriot in Thirsk, The Dales Countryside Museum is a ‘must see’ in these parts.
