We have three Award Winning Tweedies Bears up for grabs.
Award winning, original, quirky, colourful bears and paperweight mice – established 2005.
Well, I’m not quite sure where last year went and here we are already almost a quarter of the way through 2019, the 14th year since Tweedies were first launched. Maisie our flagship bear has had a hard job choosing the 3 bears for the April competition, but I hope you like her choice of Gaenor, Gareth and Jack.
Gaenor – is made from a really rich red Welsh tweed. She has dark cream felt feet, caramel ears and the flower on her tummy is dark cream with a maroon centre. Her hand knitted hat is peach, Roma red and heather and her scarf is Roma red. Colours designed to keep out the March winds and April showers.
Gareth – is made from 2 Welsh tweeds; orange mottled and a plain pale brown one. His ears and feet are orange and his heart – a new feature on all boy bears for 2019 – is orange and pale green. Gareth’s hat is russet, pale green, tangerine and yellow ochre; and his scarf is pale green. A very cheeky bear, Gareth was the new Welsh Huggie for 2018, and is so cheeky that as I write this we are being battered by the high winds of Storm Gareth!
Jack – originally one of the “Fishing Bears”, he is made from a lovely warm colourful checked Shetland tweed. He has pale caramel ears and dark cream felt feet. His hat has bottle green rib and stripes of flame, pale blue and buttercup. The heart on his tummy is dark cream and pale brown. A scarf of buttercup wool is wrapped around his neck to keep him warm, especially when he is dreaming of his days on the riverbank!
Winners will be notified and published on our website 3 days after closing date.
