What’s your Wedding Style?
It’s a day you’ll both treasure forever and a chance to really make a statement. Shop Etsy for special, unique items that your guests will appreciate as so ‘you’.
We all love a good traditional wedding, but maybe a few rustic elements in a country setting would be more your bag? Perhaps your dream day is a much more modern affair – an edgy city venue or an eye-opening twist on the norm. Or are you and your beau all-out alternative, keen to shake things up?
We asked five influencers to curate their ideal wedding style for us from Etsy’s UK seller offering and the results are beautifully detail-driven, brimming with ideas.
First up, queen of alternative wedding inspo, Kat Williams of Rock ’n’ Roll Bride, who’s having a moment with all things botanical/holographical…“Being a lover of all things pink, holographic and sparkly, putting together this little collection was a joy!” says Kat. “Of course, we all know that being a Rock ’n’ Roll bride is all about taking your own personal style and putting it into your wedding, well if I was to plan the decor for my own wedding now, I think it would look a little bit like this…”
Kat’s choice of futuristic cake topper, from Rachel Emma Studio is a space-age garden goodie. Pair it with Rachel Emma’s holographic save the date cards too, and guests will be prepped for the unusual, reinforced when they clap eyes on you in this divine alternative veil, handmade by Crown and Glory. Karen Cinnamon has a different take on things. Founding editor of Jewish (and ‘Jew-ish’) wedding site, Smashing the Glass, she’s gone for a mix of beautifully timeless details. The order of services she’s picked from Beija Flor Studio offer space to explain any wedding traditions your guests of other faiths and denominations may not be familiar with: “A custom-illustrated order of service is such a special memento of your day. Plus it is so helpful as you can include explanations.”
Flower lolly favours from FlowerLolly add a fun yet formal element to proceedings. “You can get them made with a range of different flowers, to match with your colour scheme,” says Karen. Personalise it further by selecting your own choice of ribbon and even the colour of the stick. Finally, a white, embellished hanger for your wedding dress is a beautiful keepsake. Take a look at the personalised options available at Clouds and Currents.

So you’re more of a modern Mrs? Feast your eyes on these colourful, graphical creations. Raj Dharar of Secret Wedding Blog loves bold, painterly blooms, that “ooze modern Asian wedding style”, the theme of her own wedding. This Wild Meadow design from Wildwood Paper can be created with any other assets you require so you’re not restricted to just the invitations and RSVPs. Multi-day ceremonies and festival-style celebrations can be catered for too.
Striking, typographical prints on the other hand are also having a moment and these invitations from Oh Romeo Design Studio are an excellent scene-setter for what’s to come. They’re on the style shortlist of Emily Pettiford and Jessica Turley, founders of Bespoke Bride, which is packed with colour-punch ideas. “There are literally thousands of choices for your wedding stationery so you can pick something from Etsy that reflects your wedding style perfectly,” they say. “If you pick items that you love and mean something to you then you really can’t go far wrong.” Their choice of Hearth and Heritage favours too, from mini gin tipples to impeccably presented bath oils are fun and fresh.
Maybe, like the guys at Whimsical Wonderland Weddings, your style is decidedly more deciduous. We’re talking rustic with edge: pyrographed wood, fresh greenery and a seasonal atmosphere. Founder, Louise Baltruschat Hollis says: “These botanical cookie wedding favours from LemonTreeCakes compliment a paired back greenery and wooden vibe. So cute!” You also can’t go wrong with Alfalfa Design laser engraved wooden magnet save the dates and a grounding, metallic element in modern copper – these wire place settings by The Letter Loft are beautiful pieces for guests to keep.
Louise’s shares her full pick here and sums up beautifully: “Etsy really is the go-to place for couples with personality and heaps of style. Why? Because it is packed to the rafters with artisan creatives who are at the cutting edge of wedding trends and ideas. Not only are you supporting small businesses with your wedding purchases at Etsy but you are guaranteed to get something unique and often bespoke with their vast array of wedding wares.”
