The Star Inn – Ashton Under Hill
When you want farm fresh food and good ale in a cosy atmosphere, The Star Inn at Ashton under Hill shines out as pub heaven right here in the Worcestershire countryside.
Family and dog friendly, The Star Inn sits below Bredon Hill, which offers stunning views over the Cotswolds. For anyone who has stretched their muscles on the famous peak it is a welcoming place in which to rest, rejuvenate and refuel.
Everything is as fresh as the air in the large garden. Owners Ed and Vicky get their meat from their own family’s farm at Grafton, a mile away. Vegetables come from the Vale of Evesham, fish is delivered daily and the ever changing Real Ales come from local microbreweries.
Meals are cooked freshly to order. They range from hearty pub favourites like beer battered fish & chips and Aberdeen Angus beef burgers to stylish sharing platters of seafood and appetising vegetarian options like leek and farmhouse cheddar tart, all beautifully presented and delicious. On Sundays, people travel from as far as Bristol to relish traditional roast dinners served 12 to 4pm.
“We and our team serve the absolute best pub food we can produce,” says Vicky. “Lots of it is homemade, including our famous pies.”
Wednesday Pie Nights, monthly Speciality Food Nights and other offers are posted on Facebook.
