SOUL SANCTUARY TO PROVIDE FREE YOGA CLASSES IN SUPPORT OF SPRINGFIELD MIND FOR INTERNATIONAL STRESS AWARENESS WEEK
Soul Sanctuary Studios are delighted to be teaming up with Springfield Mind as their local charity partner and kick off their fundraising and awareness activities by providing unlimited yoga for International Stress Awareness Week, which takes place from Monday 4th until Friday 8th November.
Soul Sanctuary founder Laura Butcher is a strong believer in yoga’s effectiveness at combating stress and wants everybody to experience the positive impact yoga can have on our lives. As such, Soul Sanctuary are offering a week of FREE YOGA at their studios during International Stress Awareness Week. The sessions will take place at Soul Sanctuary’s Wayland’s Yard and Spetchley Park Gardens studios in Worcestershire. Existing Soul Sanctuary members will also enjoy unlimited yoga during this time.
A 2017 study by the Department of Psychology at Lund University in Sweden found that people who took up weekly yoga sessions felt significant reductions in stress as well as other psychological health measures such as anxiety, depression and insomnia.
Laura said: ‘Yoga is typically associated with its physical benefits such as flexibility and injury prevention, but many people are unaware of how it can benefit you psychologically. We’re seeing a rise in the number of people suffering from stress and anxiety and I want as many people as possible to experience how yoga can combat this and improve their mental wellbeing. I am very passionate about mental health so I am delighted that Soul Sanctuary is supporting such an important cause.’
Jo Min, Deputy Chief Executive of Springfield Mind, said: ‘We are delighted to be working with Soul Sanctuary for International Stress Awareness Week and going forward. Laura and the team have been doing great things to help others improve their mental wellbeing and we hope this can help us continue to raise awareness of mental health issues throughout Worcestershire.’
Laura found yoga during a turbulent time in her life following her father’s untimely passing in 2014. Since experiencing the positive impact yoga had on her own life, Laura has sought to help others lead a happier, healthier existence through the power of yoga.
