Smugglers Inn | St Mawgan, Cornwall
Guests can enjoy a social life and live TV sports along with comfy accommodation and great food at the Smugglers Inn in St Mawgan, Cornwall. This traditional pub is a lively venue in a pretty village close to the popular seaside resort of Newquay and it is only a few hundred yards from Cornwall Airport, so people can relax with a few drinks and good company even if they’re flying out early next morning.
The Smugglers Inn has built up a great reputation for modern homemade pub food since being taken over by new owners Lauren and Vicky Carling and Jack Spencer in last October. The menu changes frequently to make the most of seasonal food and everything is cooked freshly to order and from locally sourced ingredients, including, of course, those fabulous seaside fish & chips. Posh burgers and traditional Sunday roasts are great favourites with the locals, not to mention perfectly kept cask ales.
Accommodation at The Smugglers comes in seven modestly priced guest rooms – three twins, three doubles and a family room for three – all with private bathrooms, hospitality trays and wi-fi. Breakfast is available if wanted and guests can soon make friends with the locals, perhaps over free live entertainment in the bar at weekends or playing pool or darts in the games room.
