To mark the final year of the World War One centenary commemorations, Wychavon have partnered with The Royal British Legion to display silhouettes of soldiers that will stand around the district serving as a reminder of the conflict.

To mark the final year of the World War One centenary commemorations, Wychavon have partnered with The Royal British Legion to display silhouettes of soldiers that will stand around the district serving as a reminder of the conflict.

As part of the ‘Thank you’ movement the Royal British Legion are inviting communities to reflect on and give thanks for the sacrifices of the WW1 generation made which helped shape our nation as we know it. 

Cllr. Richard Morris, board member for economic growth and housing and armed forces champion at Wychavon said “We’re very pleased to be involved in this initiative to mark the final year of the World War One centenary commemorations. This is a good opportunity for us to take stock and reflect on the sacrifices that all service personnel give and this is a very real and symbolic way to help us to do that.”

Wychavon has four silent soldiers that will take up posts in locations around Droitwich, Evesham, Pershore and Broadway.
