Show off your talent at 2018 Worcester Show
Are you an aspiring photographer, budding cook or enthusiastic artist? Maybe your garden or allotment is bursting with flowers and produce, or you can work wonders with a needle and thread?
If so, then show off your talent at the fabulous 2018 Worcester Show, which takes place in Gheluvelt Park on Sunday 12 August.
There are over 120 competition classes to enter – with several special categories for under 18s and Show newcomers. And the good news is, it’s free to enter.
Gerry Leith, Worcester Show Chairman says: “There are so many people with creative talents living in the area – the Worcester Show is the perfect opportunity to celebrate this talent.
“Even if you’ve never entered the Show before, then don’t miss out this year! There’s always a really friendly atmosphere at the event, and it’s a great opportunity to see what others have created too.”
Classes range from many kinds of fruit and vegetable, including giant vegetables, to displaying flowers and floral decorations, creative handicrafts, photography, baking and modelling.
The Show is also a great opportunity to encourage children to take a break from high tech gadgets, as the school summer holidays approach. There are Under 18s classes in every category (including cooking, photography, arts, crafts and gardening).
Fun and creative classes especially for under 11s include making an imaginary insect out of clay; creating a picture or collage entitled ‘under the sea’ and building a form of transport out of fruit and veg.
An Under 18’s Trophy will be awarded for the most points gained overall in the Show.
Entering the Show is simple, and free. Go to www.worcestershow.org.uk or call the Customer Service Centre on 01905 722233. The deadline to enter all classes is Monday 8 August – apart from entry to the photography classes, which have an earlier deadline of 5pm on Thursday 2 August.
