The towering edifice of Rum Doodle was dreamed up by Scarborough-born author W E Bowman from his adventures climbing in this craggy corner of Britain. Now it is immortalised not only in a bar in Himalayan Kathmandu but also in the vintage heaven of Rum Doodle B&B which, once seen, could never be forgotten.
Each room is individually styled while providing the first word in comfort in everything from the Egyptian cotton bed linen to the plentiful antiques.
Rum Doodle holds 4 Stars Silver and a Breakfast Award from Visit England and a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor. All breakfast items are fresh and locally sourced as far as possible.
Tina Salt and her husband Steve, both experienced in the hospitality industry, fell in love with it and moved from Kent to take over the business in June.
“It’s different from the norm and we aim for quality,” says Tina, “Trying to do everything to a little bit higher standard than usual for the smaller B&Bs. We want our guests to keep coming back!”
