WEDNESDAY 17TH JANUARY 2018
The Wonderful Worcestershire Awards held its launch event at the Guildhall in Worcester on Wednesday 17th January. The event was a posh brunch with guest speakers Vikki Thomas, Kathy Leather and Steve Lloyd. There were 73 nominations announced for the awards over 8 categories.
The public vote is now open for these nominees until Friday 16th February. You can vote through the website: www.wonderfulworcestershireawards.co.uk
The top 5 in each category will then go through to the judge’s round which is in March.
Sarah Mayo-Evans, one of the Founders of the Awards said, “The calibre of the nominees this year is once again outstanding and we are thrilled that these awards provide them with a platform on which to promote themselves. The awards are aimed at recognising and rewarding individuals for their contribution to the county; be it running a successful business, working tirelessly for others or being an inspiration through significant personal or business achievement. The initiative represents the amazing people of Worcestershire who balance and juggle their lives relentlessly, supporting their community and playing such a pivotal role in developing our local community”
Co Founder Julia Williams said, “We hope that these awards will help to raise the profile and promoe Worcestershire as a great place to work, invest, live and visit! Our nominated charity for these awards is the Worcestershire Association of Carers”
The Main Awards event will be held on Friday 27th April from 12.00pm for posh afternoon tea at Worcestershire County Cricket Ground. Tickets are on sale now through eventbrite
