Priory Farm Luxury holiday cottages in a beautiful historic setting
Ancient character meets self catering perfection at Priory Farm Holiday Cottages, award winning accommodation in the tranquil Cotswold countryside. The site, on the edge of Stroud, includes a recently restored Saxon tithe barn which serves as a games room, a Medieval manor house once visited by King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn and a fish pond which once provided fresh fare for the manor dining table.
Together, the complex is one of Gloucestershire’s most cherished historic sites. The three cottages are beautifully converted farm buildings which sleep either five or six people – 16 altogether – plus their dogs. They are warm, comfortable, stylish and well equipped, with all the amenities that modern holidaymakers would expect, plus a few more. One even has a hot tub.
The barn was in danger of collapse, but English Heritage provided a grant enabling the family owners to restore it. Now it is available to hire flexibly for weddings, parties, corporate events and other private events. Bed & breakfast can be provided for wedding guests.
When the three cottages are rented together, perhaps for extended family celebrations or special interest groups, the barn can become a communal dining area where everyone can get together.
Beautiful walks through the Cotswold countryside start from the cottage front doors and the area is replete with great places to visit, including the famous Painswick Rococo Garden.
