More than 5,000 spectators are estimated to flock to the Pershore town centre and side lines for stage six of the race which is estimated to start at 1pm on Thursday, 12 September.

Hosted by Worcestershire’s Vale & Spa, the stage will see riders tackle a 14.5km individual time trial which will start and finish on Broad Street and pass through Little Comberton and Bricklehampton during a scenic anti-clockwise loop.

ITV4 will be providing television coverage and Worcestershire’s Vale & Spa Stage Six – Pershore Individual Time Trial and highlights are scheduled to air on the evening.

Cllr. Rob Adams, Portfolio Holder for Community Engagement, Culture and Sport, at Wychavon District Council, said: “The OVO Energy Tour of Britain is the UK’s most prestigious cycle race and we are so proud to host stage six in our wonderful town of Pershore. As part of Wychavon’s strategy, we have invested in sport and leisure facilities and have worked with partners to increase levels of cycling in the district. The OVO Energy Tour of Britain is just another part of our priority to help people to be healthy, active and supported.”

To accommodate the start and finish line gantry, barriers, hospitality, podium and all the team vehicles, full road closures (except emergency services) will be in place to all traffic.

These closures are also required for rider and spectator safety and are endorsed by Worcestershire County Council.
