Hussingtree Gin launch their Asparagus Dry Gin, the fourth premium dry gin in their range
Hussingtree Gin from Worcestershire is thrilled to announce the launch of their Asparagus Dry Gin. In doing so they’ve achieved a feat that has confounded distillers for years.
Hussingtree Gin from Worcestershire have crafted a truly unique premium dry gin using local asparagus as a main botanical.
Numerous distillers in the past have attempted to incorporate asparagus into their gins, but with varied success. The team at Hussingtree Gin have spent over six months experimenting with distilling processes and botanical blends, to understand the best way to unlock the vegetable’s flavour.
Distilled using the one shot method in a traditional alembic copper still, the result is an incredibly smooth, distinctive dry gin.
“Asparagus, when it is distilled, delivers an earthy, nutty-sweetness on the palate. Our blend of botanicals, enhanced by local brine salt during the distillation process, complements its characteristics wonderfully.” Richard Meredith, Distiller at Hussingtree Gin, explains. “A couple of fresh mint leaves makes the perfect springtime Asparagus G&T garnish.”
Asparagus Gin is the fourth premium dry gin in the Hussingtree range.
The focus of the gin-loving family team behind Hussingtree Gin is to create distinctive premium distilled gin that is inspired by the produce grown in their home county of Worcestershire. They are proud to be using asparagus from Revills Farm, a leading asparagus grower in the county.
“We’re really enjoying our journey of showcasing the county’s produce through our range of premium gins.” says Duncan Gilroy, another of the family Directors at Hussingtree Gin. “By working closely with local businesses and producers, we’re living our ‘Inspired in Worcestershire’ promise.”
The launch of Hussingtree Asparagus Gin coincides with the British Asparagus Festival, which runs from 23rd April to 21st June 2019. The Hussingtree Gin team will be attending a number of events during the festival, providing insights into the distillation process and guided tastings of their premium distilled gins.
