Avoncroft Museum is a charity and we are celebrating our 50th Anniversary of opening to the public, and have been providing a stimulating and enriching learning environment to our local community since 1967.
Avoncroft Museum was founded with the intention of rescuing historic buildings so future generations could access and learn about our shared heritage. Since then the services of the museum have developed and we have become an important community space within Worcestershire.
Our belief is that everyone should be able to get hands on with heritage, and we aim to provide an environment where learning is fun, active and allows visitors to explore the past. We currently welcome over 46,000 people a year.
It costs the museum £460,000 a year to provide our visitors with a great experience and maintain our collection of historic buildings. We do not receive any funding from central or local government so all our running costs have to be met by the museum itself. 39% of our income comes directly from our visitors in admissions and membership purchases, the rest is generated through our own fundraising activities.
This year we are running a Grand Summer Raffle to support the ongoing work of the Museum. All our prizes have kindly been donated by local and regional businesses and we are very grateful for their support.
