Graig Wen | Dramatically Beautiful

For people planning a festive getaway it’s not too late to book amazing self catering glamping holidays and bed & breakfast breaks at Graig Wen, a dramatically beautiful spot overlooking Snowdonia’s Mawddach Estuary. If it should be too late, book anyway so you have a certain treat as early as possible in 2018!

Graig Wen’s four spacious holiday cottages are full of character and cosiness, having been created from a Victorian slate cutting shed. Mostly let for complete weeks, they are rated 4 and 5 Star accommodation by Visit Wales and come with every comfort and convenience from central heating to contemporary kitchens, with decorated Christmas trees included.

The cottages, each sleeping up to six people, adjoin a small camping site with yurts with woodburning stoves and warm Welsh blankets, while the bed & breakfast offers the chance for people to enjoy a little pampering.

Together they make excellent accommodation for extended families or other groups holidaying together.

Owners Sarah Heyworth and John McKenzie-Murdoch and their guests love this location on the Mawddach Estuary trail linking the seaside town of Barmouth with historic and beautiful Dolgellau, all on the flat but with an awesome mountain backdrop.

“People come for walking, cycling and sight seeing,” says Sarah, “And of course, some go and climb Mount Snowdon! There’s so much on our doorstep.”
