Charge your glasses, pick up your paddles and get ready for a great night out at the Swan Theatre as its charity Auction Night returns – and this year the lots are better than ever!
Raising funds for Worcester Live Charitable Trust – the charity that runs not only the Swan Theatre, but also Huntingdon Hall and the annual Worcester Festival – the Swan Theatre’s biennial auction helps to raise vital funds which all go towards keeping the theatre thriving and the arts alive in Worcester.
The Swan Theatre’s staff have been working hard to secure a range of unique and original lots to auction off on the night, and the hard work has been paying off, with numerous local companies and individuals coming forward to donate all sorts of prizes and promises, from family days out and pamper packages to works of art and memorabilia.
Lots so far include tea for two at the House of Commons with Worcester’s MP, Robin Walker, a set of six solid silver teaspoons and beautiful Royal Worcester figurine courtesy of Bygones of Worcester, ‘Be a DJ for the Day’ courtesy of Youthcomm Radio, and a Canine Photo Shoot courtesy of Rae Prince Photography. Well, they do say variety is the spice of life!
Sports fans will be treated to a cricket bat signed by the whole of the Worcestershire County Cricket Club 2016 squad, a selection of signed Worcester Warriors and England Saxon rugby shirts, Eddie Irvine prints, and prime tickets to the Worcester Races. There are treats on offer for foodie lovers too, including a personalised celebration cake, restaurant vouchers and even 12 jars of finest home-made marmalade, plus pamper packages and all sorts of family days out, including tickets to Stratford’s Butterfly Farm, the West Midland Safari Park, Croome, and the Black Country Living Museum. There really is something for everyone.
And as for the night’s really top lots… Family tickets to this year’s Mello Festival, a luxury two-night stay on the Somerset Coast, and a week’s holiday in a seaside cottage on the Isle of Wight will all be going, going, gone!
Not only will you have the chance to bid for these fantastic lots, but with a special prize raffle, fun interval entertainment and the bar open throughout, this year’s Swan Theatre Auction promises to be a fantastic night out.
