Fine dining & luxury go together like bees and honey at Colwall Park Hotel
The village of Colwall is a really beautiful setting for the hotel and the views of the Malvern Hills as we approached were absolutely breathtaking. Our first impressions when we arrived one August Saturday afternoon were that it was very stylish and charming with its half-timbered exterior. The staff were fantastic and looked after us exceptionally well, making us feel welcome and special.
Our double room was modern, immaculately clean, en suite and full of character, a really nice blend of comfortable contemporary and early 20th century character from when the hotel was first built. It had tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary toiletries and TV.
Later, in the bar, we were served with afternoon tea, which featured an absolutely beautiful selection of delicate sandwiches and cakes which literally melted in the mouth.
Our evening meal was three courses of deliciousness. The chef in charge should receive an award because, of all the numerous stunning restaurants I’ve ever eaten in, this was there among the best. My choice of starter was blue cheese & cauliflower soup while my partner picked the scallops. Both dishes were seasonal and sensational and the presentation was amazing, so pretty. The bread was newly baked and smelled wonderful.
For the mains I chose lamb and my partner pork. We both agreed that our dishes were among the best and tastiest meals we’d ever eaten. We thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful, even on full stomachs after that splendid afternoon tea. These were followed by yet more treats in the form of perfectly prepared puddings, both delectable.
I have to give a special mention to Matt, our waiter, as he was not only professional but really funny, friendly and warm with it. We had fantastic service from him all weekend.
Next morning our breakfast was again fresh and tasty and there was an enormous selection with something to please everyone.
Our stay was amazing. We can’t wait to go back.
