English winery delivering for Christmas
Halfpenny Green is an English wine estate which matches the continental vineyards for quality, using grapes nurtured in the South Staffordshire countryside. Now there are three new varieties released for 2020, currently exclusive to this outlet and deliverable in time for Christmas. If wished, they can form part of a bespoke hamper!
The winery was launched by farmer Martin Vickers in 1983. Today, Martin manages 30 acres of vines while his son, Clive, crafts the wines, including the new varieties, whites Solaris and Bacchus and a red Cabernet Merlot. From May to October, people can enjoy guided tours and tastings.
The wines are for sale online or in the delicatessen, which stocks a wide range of exotic foods. Customers can select goods for a hamper and enjoy the rest of the site while it is made up, perhaps visiting the craft centre and wild zoo park.
Why not combine shopping with a festive lunch or vintage high tea in the Halfpenny Restaurant and Tea Rooms run by Clive’s wife, Lisa? The restaurant currently serves a festive Christmas menu but always offers freshly cooked classics, delicious breakfasts and Sunday dinners. Those splendid afternoon teas are served on bone china and are an excellent way to celebrate something special.
Monetary, or specific experience vouchers, can be purchased from the shop or by telephone.
