Engineering Science Half-Term Fun at Avoncroft Museum
Avoncroft Museum will be welcoming budding scientists and engineers this half-term for a week of themed workshops and activities, and a surprise star attraction. “Engineering Science” will run from
Monday 19th – Friday 23rd February.
Young visitors will have a chance to invent, build and experiment in these specially designed indoor science and engineering activities supplied by Cheltenham Science Group. Activities will include a K’nex building challenge, a vertical wind tunnel, maths and logic puzzles, and a range of experiments and equipment for the young scientists to get their hands on.
Outdoors, visitors can explore the historic houses, ride on the miniature train (Tuesday-Thursday, 11am – 3pm) and take part in the free Science Discovery trail around the museum grounds, provided by Cheltenham Science Festival and the BBC focus magazine.
Engineering Science! activities are aimed at families with children aged 5 and above and parents welcome to get involved.
Activities in the Guesten hall are 90 minutes and start at 11.00am and 1.30pm. Pre-booking is essential, the workshops will be timed sessions in the New Guesten Hall. Children must be supervised at all times.
Winter admission prices apply and Engineering Science! workshops are an additional charge of £3.50 per child.
