Whether you’re seeking a romantic get-away, a family retreat or a great base for exploring and activities, you’ll love Special Dorset Cottages for their top quality and lovely locations.

All eight of the cottages are close to the towns of Bridport, Lyme Regis and the fossil collecting country of the Jurassic Coast, along with easy access to some stunningly beautiful countryside. Readers may well remember ITV’s Julia Bradbury taking Dorset’s Golden Cap Walk to the spectacular views from the highest point on the south coast, Colmer’s Hill.

Heather owns two of the cottages herself and manages the others for friends who share the same high standards for their accommodation. They sleep from two to six people and they are all beautifully placed for exploring West Dorset and its numerous charms.

“They are all very different but all in close proximity, near Bridport,” says Heather. “Four are pet friendly and one is particularly good for people with mobility problems.

“Bridport is a buzzy market town and it is very pleasant to walk along the harbour of West Bay – where the ITV drama Broadchurch drama was filmed – to get to it. Bridport has a thriving arts scene and a theatre. It holds very good markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays and is famous for Bucky Doo Square, where buskers play to the crowds.”
