For relaxed fine dining at great value prices, The Tame Hare is a runaway success. It’s a contemporary-styled restaurant in the heart of Leamington Spa with a focus on serving up a fantastic foodie experience in a lovely laid back atmosphere.
It has this year retained its AA Rosette for food and added a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence after enthusiastic reviews by customers.
The Tame Hare’s foods are all of high quality and sourced from the best local producers and suppliers. Every dish is freshly prepared by a team of talented chefs led by Jonny Mills, who owns the business in partnership with his father. The mouthwatering menus showcase seasonal specialities.
Current lunch options include homemade black pudding, cod fishcake with buttered leeks and curry sauce and roasted banana cheesecake. The à la carte and tasting menu has treats such as tomato gazpacho, south coast mackerel and lamb ‘Marsala’. Sweets include lemon curd, pea and coconut mousse.
Jonny says: “It’s all reasonably priced, well presented food. Everything is made on the premises. Nothing is bought in at all.
“The restaurant is very informal. If you’re wearing shorts and a T shirt you’re still more than welcome to come and eat with us.”
Children are welcome and there are always vegetarian options. Special diets including vegan can be accommodated with prior notice.
