Editor’s Choice The Kings Arms Cleobury Mortimer
Whether you’re looking for a lovely place to enjoy a drink with friends, dine out or be a base for a break in the Shropshire Hills, the King’s Arms at Cleobury Mortimer is a great choice. Set in the centre of this charming market town, it is a welcoming venue for locals and visitors alike and takes pride in being dementia friendly, too.
The King’s Arms is a place where everyone can feel relaxed, including families, people with disabilities, dog walkers and cyclists. It’s an attractive 15th century building which has been tastefully modernised while keeping its character and it has the advantage of a very pleasant garden.
Food at The King’s Arms makes the most of seasonal and local produce and is all freshly prepared to order, with servings from 12 to 3pm and 6 to 8.30pm daily. It is open from 10am daily for beverages, including morning coffee with cakes. The bar is well stocked with drinks such as locally made beers and spirits.
Overnight guests enjoy a freshly prepared hot or Continental breakfast and stay in one of four stylish double or twin en suite rooms which have their own tea and coffee making facilities. Some use it as a base for walking local landmarks such as the Long Mynd or Wenlock Edge. Many others explore the industrial heritage of Ironbridge Gorge.
