Editor’s Choice Shakespeare Inn Hanbury
Tasty tapas are on the menu alongside pub classics, grills, sandwiches and wraps at the Shakespeare Inn, a family friendly, dog friendly local in Hanbury, near Leamington Spa.
At three for £9.95 the Spanish-style sharing dishes with ciabatta breads are a popular feature of the menu, especially with the summer weather encouraging everyone to get in the Mediterranean mood outside in the substantial beer garden. When it’s not so warm the large conservatory is a pleasant alternative, while the bar and other inside rooms are welcoming all year round.
Customers also love to tuck into traditional favourites like fish and chips and home made pies, or perhaps try something a little hotter, like the Cajun chicken fajitas. Desserts and speciality coffees are available and there vegan and gluten free choices have recently been added to the regular fare to ensure everyone is well catered for.
The Shakespeare is a 17th century coaching inn which has been run by Helen Onens and her husband, Mark, since October 2017. They serve local cask ales, including some from Purity Brewery in the nearby town of Alcester, and have a wide variety of other beverages including a selection of wines to be enjoyed with food or on their own.
Helen and Mark shortly plan to take over the Bridge Inn at Offenham, near Evesham.
