Editor’s Choice Pentre Mawr Farnhouse, Powys
Pentre Mawr is a beautifully renovated farmhouse providing 5 Star self-catering accommodation in the idyllic countryside of Powys. The house is situated only four miles from the famous book town of Hay-On-Wye and nine miles from the Black Mountains. The Brecon Beacons, Welsh Marches, Builth Wells Showground and Hereford are all within an easy drive.
The house sits surrounded by working farmland on the edge of a hamlet, Rhosgoch. It caters for eight people in four large bedrooms, including an en-suite master. Amenities include a comfy lounge with multi-channel TV, spacious dining room, family bathroom and well-equipped kitchen with an island.
There is also a games room with pool and ping pong tables, but the star attraction is undoubtedly the hot tub, the perfect place to relax after a day’s rambling. Also, on offer is an excellent spot for a campfire, where the Milky Way can be viewed on a clear night.
Walkers can take up to two well behaved dogs if they wish and set out from the front door into the unspoiled scenery of the Begwns or local drovers routes. Or, they can drive a short distance to explore the Wye Valley, Black Mountains and Offa’s Dyke.
