Ivy Roost Cottage is a delightful 400 year old thatched country cottage which has been lovingly restored to provide luxury accommodation for nine people in the New Forest National Park. It is close to the harbour town of Lymington and also Beaulieu, home of the National Motor Museum, medieval abbey ruins and World of Top Gear. The Isle of Wight ferry is minutes away, golf is at hand and there are Solent beaches nearby perfect for sailing, fishing and fossil hunting.
This unique cottage, rated 5 Star Gold by Visit England, combines spacious and stylish living areas with character features such as oak beams and an inglenook fireplace. Twelve people can eat comfortably in the kitchen/diner.
There are four bedrooms, one of them on the ground floor and suitable for people with walking difficulties. One of the three bathrooms is also on the ground floor. The property stands in stunning landscaped gardens and has a rooftop terrace overlooking the surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Quality furnishings and appliances are provided throughout, including a garden hot tub.
Owner Karen Rogers says: “When guests leave our gates and cross the road they are on common land, acres and acres of national park with fantastic off-road tracks for walking and cycling.”
The forest is famous for roaming ponies, donkeys and deer, but also has a reptile centre near Lymington.
