Editor’s Choice Capstone Foster Care
Capstone Foster Care is seeking potential foster carers who could help to build brighter futures for children and teenagers who can no longer live with their birth parents.
People who provide foster care have one fundamental purpose, which is to provide a safe, secure home environment. If you think you could do that, Capstone would like to hear from you! The only requirements are that you are over 21, have a spare bedroom and have time available to fulfil the role.
The need for fostering placements comes about because of wide and varied circumstances, among them violence in the home, severe illness, bereavement or abuse. Placements are sometimes short, sometimes long term, but training is given and 24/7 support is available.
Capstone is an independent fostering agency looking after hundreds of carers across England. It is seeking people who can foster teenagers, siblings of all ages and parents who come into care with their babies or children.
Capstone’s East Midlands Marketing Co-ordinator, Alison Williams, says: “Some people rule themselves out too soon because they assume the foster child will have behavioural difficulties or additional needs. That isn’t the case! It depends on what their individual situation has been but they need routine, boundaries, structure & emotional warmth. It is these sorts of things that make a difference and build a brighter future.”
