Editor’s Choice Arkale Lodge Carlisle
Visitors love the comfort, convenience and great value of Arkale Lodge, family friendly bed & breakfast accommodation within 10 minutes’ walk of Carlisle city centre with its excellent shops, eateries, attractions and public transport. It’s great for a full-on holiday exploring Hadrian’s Wall, the Lake District or the famous railway from Carlisle to Settle and a good choice, too, for a short break or a stop-over on the way to northern Scotland. It’s on one of the main routes from Land’s End to John O’ Groats.
Arkale Lodge has 14 guest bedrooms including single, double, twin and family, most of them en suite, some pet friendly and all with TV, wi-fi, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and a laundry service on request. It is run by former publican Patrick Cody and his wife, Muriel, who make everyone feel relaxed from when they arrive to the final home cooked full English breakfast of their stay, always considered a treat by their many regulars.
Guests have use of a large conservatory, a secure lock-up and washing area for bikes and patio seating.
On-site parking with CCTV cover is provided by courtesy of the next door St Nicholas Arms, which was recently refurbished as an excellent family food venue. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy a meal, a drink and a chat.
