Editor’s Choice Animal Care and Control
Anyone who works with dogs – or who would like to – can benefit from the specialised courses on offer from Animal Care & Control. These courses help you help your four legged friends. They include canine first aid, security dog training and others to suit anyone from groomers to private pet owners.
Animal Care & Control is run by experienced instructor John McClay, a former soldier who has worked with service dogs in both the civilian and military sector. John has trained dogs for detecting explosives and drugs, for carrying out general security work and for working with police dog handlers.
His company delivers training to the standards of NASDU – the National Association of Security Dog Users – including modules to do with animal containment and safe handling and transport.
The business is an accredited Pro Training Centre for one day level two and advanced animal first aid courses, which include practice on canine mannequins.
John, who has two springer spaniels of his own, says: “We pride ourselves on treating all animals with humanity and respect and this comes through in every aspect of the training services we provide.
“We offer many different courses and these can be tailored to specific kinds of pet. We also teach Emergency First Aid at Work.”
