Bakers Mill Holiday Cottages | Axe Valley
Delightfully situated in the Axe Valley bordering Dorset and Somerset are the six Bakers Mill Holiday Cottages, ideal for two to six people or for extended families or groups of up to 21 people in total.
The cottages sit in idyllic privacy on an organic farm of 200 acres where cattle graze the fields. The oldest, built of flint, dates back to the early 1700s and is Grade 2 listed.
All the cottages retain original features such as exposed beams and vaulted ceilings and one is wheelchair accessible with wide doorways, a wetroom shower and ramped access. A games room with table tennis, table football, pool, darts and WiFi is a magnet for older children, while the younger ones are never short of toys, games and outdoor play space.
This dog friendly development is somewhere people of all ages can relax and enjoy peace, tranquillity and a rustic scene with its own stream and wildlife pond. Regular visitors include deer, badgers and foxes, not to mention a plethora of bird life, and there is easy access to two of the country’s long distance pathways, Monarch Way and Wessex Ridgeway. The farm even has its own lakes for coarse fishing.
Lovely walks abound in these parts, but the spot is also well placed for the seaside, especially West Bay and Bridport, the ‘Golden Gateway’ to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.
