The most “dog friendly” places in the
UK and Europe
The UK’s most popular dog friendly businesses and destinations have been recognised in the Annual DogFriendly Awards.
The DogFriendly Awards are run by DogFriendly Limited in association with The Kennel Club’s “Be Dog Friendly Campaign” and this year they have been supported by Eurotunnel Le Shuttle.
The Awards give dog owners the opportunity to recognise and reward pet and non-pet businesses and places that go the extra mile for the benefit of the UK’s 9.4 million dogs and their owners.
Winners of the DogFriendly Awards in each of the categories are chosen by public vote.
The DogFriendly Awards are split into four sections and eighteen categories.
The four sections are:
Most Dog Friendly Non-pet Businesses – in association with The Kennel Club
Most Dog Friendly Employer – in association with Pets at Work Alliance
Most Dog Friendly European Place to visit and place to stay – in association with Eurotunnel Le Shuttle
Most Dog Friendly Pet Businesses – in association with My Pet People.
And the eighteen categories are:
Hotel/Place to Stay, Pub/Bar, Day Out, Beach, Café / Restaurant, Camping / Caravanning, The Great Outdoors, High Street Shops, Town / City, Large Organisation, Employer, Europe Hotel / Place to Stay, Europe Area / Place to Visit, Pet Shops, Groomers, Kennels, Sitters and Walkers
Winners and runners up of each category are below.
This year saw more entries than ever before and tens of thousands of public votes.
Steve Bennett, co-founder of DogFriendly commented “this year’s awards ceremony was a wonderful occasion and it gave us the opportunity to say a very public thank you to the businesses that were voted as the most dog friendly in the UK”.
Commendations For Austin & Co Great Malvern Worcestershire
“We’ve been bringing our dogs to Austin & Co for many years and every time we receive a great welcome from not just the owner, but also from Nessa, the shop’s resident dog. Water bowls and gravy bones are to hand but just knowing we can take our dogs in is enough for us. If only more shops were as welcoming.”
“A delightful independent card and stationery shop in Great Malvern.“
“Great independent stationary and greetings card shop that will allow you to take your dog in whilst shopping. Doesn’t mind if a waggy tail disturbs the displays and offers gravy bones to well behaved dogs.“
“Always a bowl of water for the four legged shopper and the resident dog is very friendly!”
“Nessa, the Austin & Co dog is always happy to meet four-legged friends. Being allowed to look around with your pooch is a delight!“
“It is great to choose from the fantastic stationery and beautiful greetings cards with help from your furry friend.”
