25 PLASTIC WATER BOTTLES EQUALS 1 PAIR OF ECOLAYER LEGGINGS
A million plastic bottles are bought around the world every minute and the number will jump another 20% by 2021, creating an environmental crisis some campaigners predict will be as serious as climate change. Between 5m and 13m tonnes of plastic leaks into the world’s oceans each year to be ingested by seabirds, fish and other organisms. By 2050 the ocean will contain more plastic by weight than fish, according to research by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
Made from recycled water bottles
PlayerLayer use plastic water bottles taken from the ocean to produce their EcoLayer leggings fabric. They are chopped into tiny pieces which can then be used as the basic ingredient for our yarns. It takes approximately 25 water bottles to produce 1 pair of leggings. The high-rise fit and breathable fabric makes them a key sports basic.
